Dr Chew Mei Fang

Bio:
Dr Chew Mei Fang is an anaesthesiologist and intensive care physician currently working in Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), Singapore.

After completing her undergraduate training at the University of New South Wales, Australia, she embarked on specialist training in Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine. She completed her training with the National Healthcare Group (NHG), Singapore and her specialist exams, Master of Medicine (Anaesthesiology), Singapore, in 2018. Following that, she further her training in Intensive Care Medicine, and spent a year working in various intensive care units locally and obtained her Specialist Accreditation and Registration in Intensive Care Medicine in Singapore. She currently practices intensive care in both the surgical and medical intensive care units at Tan Tock Seng Hospital, as well as the neuro-intensive care unit at the National Neuroscience Institute (NNI). She has also been active in the intensive care circle in Singapore and is involved with the Society of Intensive Care Medicine (SICM), Singapore.

Her current interests include neuroanaesthesia, trauma and neurointensive care, medical education, and complex airway management. She is the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Critical Care Medicine clinical lead, Clinical Core Faculty Member (CCFM) of the NHG Anaesthesia residency programme, as well as part of the teaching faculty of Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. She is actively involved in both undergraduate and post-graduate medical training, the planning and coordination of the medical curriculum of the critical care medicine undergraduate program and anaesthesia residency program.

Biography:

Dr Kristy graduated from Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and was accepted into Paediatric Residency Programme at National University Healthcare System as the pioneer batch. She obtained her Master of Medicine (Paediatrics) and became a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health after 3 years of residency training as a junior resident. She successfully completed her 6-year residency programme and achieved Specialist Accreditation for Paediatric Medicine at the end of her specialist training. During her residency training, Dr Kristy was the chief resident and also completed the Singapore Chief Residency Programme organised by Healthcare Leadership College, Ministry of Health Singapore.
Dr Kristy is currently completing her dual accreditation specialist training in Paediatric Critical Care with special interests in Neurocritical Care. She is also a passionate teacher and contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate education. She was awarded the Best Teacher Award and Best Young Clinician Mentor Award the by National University Hospital and Department of Paediatric on many occasions. She is also the current chief registrar, taking the lead in senior residents' manpower and education issues.

Dr Kumaresh Venkatesan works as a Director, SICU, Kumaresh is currently based in Singapore. They used to work at University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust and The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust.

Adj Assoc Prof Augustine Tee

Biography:

Augustine Tee is a Senior Consultant and accredited respiratory physician, intensivist and general physician at Changi General Hospital (CGH). He is also a deputy chairman, Medical Board (Medical Disciplines) at CGH since January 2019.

He is the current vice-president of Asthma & Allergy Association S’pore, and has previously served two terms as chair of Chapter of Respiratory Physicians and as an exco member at the Singapore Thoracic Society. He is a member of many Ministry of Health working committees advising on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), haze, respiratory therapy services, home palliative care services, healthcare financing, respiratory drug evaluation and medication safety. Dr Tee is an active investigator in clinical trials and a reviewer for many respiratory journals, being recognised with certificates of reviewing with distinction from the Singapore Medical Journal (2009-10 & 2013-14).

As a dedicated educator, he has received awards in 2014 and 2015 for teaching excellence from NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singhealth Advanced Internal Medicine Senior Residency programme, and CGH. Dr Tee is also a recipient of the Eastern Health Alliance Silver, Gold and Star Caring Awards in 2013, 2014 and 2015 respectively.

She has interests in Point-of-care ultrasonography, respiratory care, simulation and education. In 2020, while on sabbatical in Canada, she spent 3 months as a Research Volunteer at Dr Laurent Brochard's Laboratory at St Michael's Hospital, Toronto. When she is not in ICU or OT, she spends her time trying to bake and running after her pre-schooler.
